When 19 project partners are dedicated to a common cause, good coordination and communication are required. This work package is therefore dedicated to the tasks associated with project controlling, reporting, internal communication, financial controlling and IPR.

This work package aims at governance and capacity building activities within the Smart FOX project. It includes the iterative development of a coordinated governance framework to provide guidance on ethical, legal and social issues. In addition, it includes the establishment of the Smart FOX Learning Club to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration. The work package also focuses on harmonizing compliance with international standards, especially with regard to the European Health Data Space (EHDS). In addition, it promotes capacity building through the joint creation of easily accessible information for citizens and patients and the development of a Memorandum of Understanding for patient advocacy, with data donation for secondary use as an internal goal.

A central objective of WP3 is to promote the use of open standards and open source solutions in order to prevent potential vendor dependencies. In the context of Smart FOX, WP3 comprises the formulation of requirements for the core backend infrastructure, including the entire architecture. It also includes the specification of architecture and interfaces with a focus on data protection, data security, standardization and storage. Furthermore, the work package includes the agile implementation and operation of components, services and interfaces to ensure a robust and flexible system.

This work package focuses on the integration of proprietary digital services from the industry into the core backend infrastructure of Smart FOX. Based on the formulation of precise requirements for the connection of these services to ensure seamless connectivity and functionality, the next step is to specify the architecture and interfaces, in particular for the citizen and patient portals and consent management. This is followed by the implementation and operation of the necessary components, services and interfaces to ensure a robust and efficient system.

This work package focuses on the privacy-compliant use of ELGA-standardized data and draws on high-quality data sets from established research activities. It aims to give citizens and patients the opportunity to give additional consent for the use of their ELGA data in connection with existing research contexts. 1) The work package investigates the feasibility of integrating existing biobank data with ELGA data for colorectal cancer in order to improve biomarker research in the future. 2) The potential for integrating data from the private practice sector into an existing integrated care register for heart failure patients will be examined in order to expand the scope and benefits of the register.

In order to ensure high visibility of the project, exchange know-how and develop exploitation strategies for generated (shared) intellectual property rights, various activities are planned in the project. This includes developing a communication strategy, establishing contact with similar or related projects and initiatives and conducting a discourse on a private and public level.
